Course Overview

The Gap Nobody Talks About
Most therapists learn a modality by learning what to do. They learn the protocol, the phases, the language, the steps. What they often don't learn is what the modality is actually doing — what it's trying to create in the client's nervous system and why that matters for healing.

That gap shows up in the room. When a clinician doesn't understand the neurobiological mechanism behind an intervention, they follow the protocol even when the client's system is telling them something different. They miss the cues. They push when they should pause, or hold back when the system is ready to move.

This Training Exists to Close It

We will go beneath technique and into the neurobiology — examining what EMDR, Brainspotting, Parts Work, and Somatic Therapy are each trying to accomplish at the level of the nervous system, how each modality works with memory, activation, regulation, and the subcortical brain, and what that understanding makes possible in the room moment by moment.

When you know what you are trying to create — not just what you are doing — you can work with greater precision, flexibility, and attunement. You can track the client's system in real time, make intentional decisions about when to stay and when to shift, and bring each modality to bear with the confidence that comes from understanding, not just familiarity.
